Community Governor Vacancy in Harpenden

Sauncey Wood Primary in Harpenden would love to hear from you if you have accountancy or finance skills and a desire to get involved with a small, friendly primary school. We need a time commitment of 5 – 10 hours per month (evenings and occasionally daytime), and will give you training and the chance to be part of a team with shared goals.

The following extract from the school’s website will give you a feel for the school:

We are a ‘good’ school and we are working very hard to become even better.

We are passionate that every child deserves to have a worthwhile and exciting day at school.  We believe strongly in instilling a love of learning for all.  We teach the skills children need to become independent, confident learners, equipped for whatever their future may hold.

Behaviour at Sauncey Wood is good, our ethos focuses on rewarding positive behaviour in class and around school.  Older children regularly work and play alongside younger children.

Sauncey Wood has a real community feel to it.  We provide many opportunities for parents to come to school through events such as sharing and celebration assemblies, ‘parent workshops’, family learning and ‘Friends of Sauncey Wood’ events.

Please contact Steve Lloyd, Head Teacher, on 01582 621 514 or Liz Redway, Chair of Governors, on 07773 473 780. More details and email addresses are available on our website.
