A webinar will replace the previously advertised in-person briefing at the Mill Green Golf Club. This will take place at 5 pm on Tuesday 30th November 2021. Similarly, the 2021 HASG AGM (see below) will be held virtually at 7 pm on 13th December 2021.
This decision has been made because cases of COVID-19 are currently high both nationally and in Hertfordshire and schools have been asked to implement additional measures to reduce the spread of the virus. With these measures in mind, we consider it appropriate that this term’s Headteacher Updates remains in webinar form. The programme will include the following updates and items:
The HASG AGM 2020, which would normally take place at the Herts Governors Annual Conference in November, is going virtual.
This year the conference has been postponed to March 2021. Our constitution requires our AGM to be held in the Autumn Term. Thus, it will take place virtually on 8th December 2020 at 7 pm. The Executive Committee of the Hertfordshire Association of School Governors (HASG) together with the Governance Planning Team of HfL have decided that the conference planned for Saturday 7th November 2020 will be postponed until Spring 2021.
The continuing uncertainty surrounding the development of the Covid-19 pandemic and the probable inadvisability of a meeting of up to 300 delegates in November this year has led us to decide now that, in the interests of safety for all participants, there was no alternative to this postponement. The Herts for Learning (HfL) Annual General Meeting (AGM) provides a valuable opportunity for shareholders to share their views and communicate with our Board of Directors. All headteachers and chairs of governors from shareholding schools are invited to attend this meeting. If you are unable to attend yourself, you are welcome to nominate a representative to attend in your place.
As usual our AGM took place during the Annual Hertfordshire Governors’ Conference at Robertson House on 17th November 2018. As required by our constitution Chairs of member schools had been notified and circulated with the relevant papers 21 days beforehand.
The Chair’s report and the Treasurer’s report were presented and the subscription level for 2019-2020 was approved (unchanged)
